\u200dVocabulary Expansion<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Dialogue:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Ryan:<\/strong> I swear this presentation is going to kill me. I\u2019m in misery.
\nLogan: <\/strong>Stop being such a drama queen, it\u2019s going to be fine. You worry too much.
\nRyan:<\/strong> How are you always so chill about these things?
\nLogan: <\/strong>Well, my mom always said worrying is like sitting on a rocking chair.
\nRyan: <\/strong>What?
\nLogan:<\/strong> It gives you something to do, but it doesn\u2019t get you anywhere.
\nRyan: <\/strong>Huh. That\u2019s actually quite insightful.
\nLogan:<\/strong> I know. So just do your best and quit your worrying.<\/p>\n

New expressions and Vocabulary!<\/strong><\/h4>\n

– Drama queen<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do you know anyone who is unnecessarily dramatic? You can call that person a \u201cdrama queen\u201d, whether it is a guy or a girl. Check out some extra examples:<\/p>\n

Mark said that the test was very difficult, but I think he is being a <\/em>drama queen.<\/em><\/strong>
\nTurn the lights off and stop being a <\/em>drama queen<\/em><\/strong>. Nothing\u2019s going to happen!
\nI\u2019m not a <\/em>drama queen<\/em><\/strong>, I\u2019m just being honest about my feelings.<\/em><\/p>\n

To indicate that someone is currently on a journey or a series of journeys, you can say that they are \u201con the road\u201d:<\/p>\n

– Chill<\/strong><\/p>\n

This work is the root of many expressions that describe someone that is not worried. You can use it in many different ways, starting with the adjective, in other words, a word that describes things or people as \u201crelaxed\u201d and \u201cslow-paced\u201d:<\/p>\n

I want to have a <\/em>chill weekend<\/em><\/strong>, I\u2019m so tired.
\nAnna wants to watch a <\/em>chill movie <\/em><\/strong>today, she is not in the mood for horror.
\nWe\u2019re having a <\/em>chill party<\/em><\/strong> this time, just a few people.<\/em><\/p>\n

You can also use this word as a verb, a synonym of \u201crelax\u201d:<\/p>\n

Mom is going to be home soon, so <\/em>chill<\/em><\/strong>.
\nDo you want to come over and just <\/em>chill<\/em><\/strong> with us?
\nRaven is <\/em>chilling<\/em><\/strong> in the living room.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cChill out\u201d has the same meaning but sounds a little more casual:<\/p>\n

Chill out<\/em><\/strong>, everything is going to be fine.
\nAfter dinner we are just going to the beach to <\/em>chill out.<\/em><\/strong>
\nMy cats love to <\/em>chill out <\/em><\/strong>in the sunlight.<\/em><\/p>\n

– My mom always said<\/strong><\/p>\n

We commonly associate some sayings (\u201cditados<\/em>\u201d) to certain people, and we can make those associations with simple sentences such as this one. We can make sentences in the past or present:<\/p>\n

My mom always said<\/em><\/strong> the early bird catches the worm.<\/em>
\nMy grandma always says<\/em><\/strong> the best part of the orange is the peel.<\/em>
\nMy grandad used to say<\/em><\/strong> that worrying was like sitting on a rocking chair.<\/em><\/p>\n

– Insightful<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u200d<\/strong>This interesting descriptive word is the word \u201cinsight\u201d with the addition of the suffix -ful, meaning \u201cfull of insight\u201d, but do you know what \u201cinsight\u201d means? It means a specific knowledge or understanding of something, so if something is \u201cinsightful\u2019 it is full of knowledge, it has or it provides a profound understanding:<\/p>\n

This magazine article was surprisingly <\/em>insightful<\/em><\/strong>, I didn\u2019t know about this!
\nYou should watch that documentary, it\u2019s extremely <\/em>insightful<\/em><\/strong>.
\nWe shouldn\u2019t have gone to that meeting, it wasn\u2019t very <\/em>insightful<\/em><\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n
