O longo reinado da rainha Elizabeth chegou ao fim depois de 70 anos, mas, e agora? Ser\u00e1 que algo vai mudar nas rela\u00e7\u00f5es dos outros pa\u00edses com a coroa? De acordo com a nossa primeira not\u00edcia, parece que sim! Bora entender o que t\u00e1 acontecendo, vamo l\u00e1.<\/p>\n

\u200dAlthough the British crown is usually associated with Britain and the United Kingdom, it is actually the head of a significant association of countries, most of them British colonies at some point in history, called The Commonwealth of Nations, or simply the Commonwealth. <\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dThis association tries to work together to promote similar ideas of democracy and society, and Queen Elizabeth was a big supporter of this allegiance,she would always visit these countries while on the throne. In fact, she expanded the commonwealth from 6 to 56 countries and was named head of state of 32 of these countries, but these numbers have been falling quickly, being now at just 14 including Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dCountries have always been free to stay, join or leave the commonwealth, and it seems that with the Queen\u2019s passing, a lot of them are questioning the alliance and some are not totally on board, especially the 14 that still have her as sovereign.<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dThe former colonies have been distancing themselves from the monarchy over the last 50 years and just last year Barbados became a republic, no longer considering Elizabeth as their head of state. In addition, some protests have been happening in Caribbean countries, including one protest during Prince William and Kate\u2019s last visit against the monarchy\u2019s presence. Consequently, Charles\u2019 crowning will probably be the trigger for more countries to cut ties.<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dMeera S., a professor in International relations from London University, explained <\/em>“The Commonwealth has to deal with a central tension in it: On the one hand, people find its spaces useful for discussion; on the other, all its members are aware that it represents something in the past that nobody wants to return to, an imperial structure. […] People are more and more keen to get away from that history and then forge their own futures. […] It’s not at all clear to me that the next head of the Commonwealth would be a member of the British Royal Family.\u201d.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

Voc\u00ea acredita que a guerra entre a Russia e a Ucr\u00e2nia j\u00e1 est\u00e1 completando 7 meses? Essa sequ\u00eancia de dias horr\u00edveis talvez tenha encontrado um momento de esperan\u00e7a para algumas das cidades ucranianas que foram invadidas, e antes de come\u00e7ar, j\u00e1 pe\u00e7o desculpas pela minha pron\u00fancia dos nomes das cidades!<\/p>\n

\u200dCities in the east of Ukraine might finally be able to breathe and sleep in peace! After a lot of strategic planning, Ukrainian troops<\/em> were able to push back and corner Russian groups, making them leave to escape being surrounded.<\/a>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dThe Russian troops left the Kharkiv region in a hurry and ended up leaving behind significant numbers of weapons and munitions in a rushed retreat as the war reached day 200 on Sunday the 11th. Soon after the retreat, one of their ammunition depots was blown up by Ukrainian forces.<\/em><\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dUkraine\u2019s military chief said that Ukraine\u2019s actions had liberated about 3.000 square kilometers in the last few weeks, leaving only 50 kilometers yet to be liberated on that side. The Russian defense ministry<\/em> denies this and says the retreat happened because more men were needed in the area of Donetsk, a different territory.<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dBut there are many signs now that the Russian defense is beginning to crumble and troops may be running out of ammunition, and ceasefires or local surrenders are being arranged, particularly in that Kharkiv area.<\/em><\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dIn fear of retaliation, even Ukrainian citizens who cooperated with Russian troops are packing up and leaving the area, trying to enter Russia<\/em> to escape the conflict and their charges of treason. The Kharkiv province authorities said that 50 cases had been opened for these accusations, including mayors, judges, and police officers.<\/em><\/p>\n

Aqui, temos a palavra breathe, escrita com E no final, B-R-E-A-T-H-E, essa palavra \u00e9 o verbo respirar, breathe = respirar. Escuta s\u00f3 esses exemplos:<\/p>\n

Mas existe outra palavra, escrita sem esse E no final, e ela a gente vai pronunciar como breath, <\/strong>e se escreve B-R-E-A-T-H, essa palavra pode ser traduzida como respiro, respira\u00e7\u00e3o e at\u00e9 h\u00e1lito. Ent\u00e3o se eu quiser falar do meu amigo George, que tinha mau h\u00e1lito, eu vou dizer<\/p>\n

E quando queremos dizer que algu\u00e9m est\u00e1 sem ar, ou porque correu, nadou ou t\u00e1 nervoso ou qualquer coisa do tipo, vou falar:<\/p>\n

Ent\u00e3o, breathe = respirar, breath = respira\u00e7\u00e3o<\/p>\n

E vamos falar de coisa boa na nossa \u00faltima not\u00edcia de hoje? Vamos falar de m\u00fasica? Que o Rock in Rio \u00e9 um dos maiores e mais ic\u00f4nicos festivais de m\u00fasica do mundo, voc\u00ea j\u00e1 sabe n\u00e9, mas voc\u00ea tem ideia do tanto de dinheiro que o festival movimenta? Vem comigo descobrir e aproveita pra mandar o epis\u00f3dio pra galera que comentou sobre o Rock in Rio com voc\u00ea!<\/p>\n

\u200dAfter three years, Rock in Rio finally returned for the long-awaited 2022 edition. During two weekends, from the 2nd to the 11th of September, the festival attracted 420,000 people from outside Rio, plus 10,000 international visitors from 31 countries, totaling 700.000 fans. <\/em><\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dAmong the attractions were huge names such as Iron Maiden, Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Guns N\u2019 Roses, Green Day, Avril Lavigne<\/em>, Coldplay, and Dua Lipa. And even with the downpour on the second weekend, they made audiences go crazy, not only those who were there but also those watching at home.<\/em><\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dThe performances became trending topics on Twitter multiple times and were quite the national phenomenon, especially Coldplay\u2019s heartfelt performance, visual effects and attempt to speak and sing in Portuguese. <\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200d\u201cAfter three years, we could feel again the emotion of seeing the City of Rock full of fans who invade the lawns with contagious joy and with the sole purpose of being happy,\u201d says Rock in Rio founder and president Roberto Medina.<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dMedina, by the way, has plenty of reason to be happy<\/em>. The festival created 28.000 jobs and generated around 2 billion reals for the city of Rio, and was considered a mark of a new beginning and opened the possibility of expanding the festival to other countries such as The US and Chile.<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

A palavra \u201cattempt\u201d pode parecer algo muito diferente mas ela quer dizer simplesmente \u201ctentativa\u201d e a gente pode usar tanto como o verbo \u201ctentar\u201d quanto como o substantivo \u201ctentativa\u201d. A palavra \u201ctry\u201d tem o mesmo sentido, mas \u201cattempt\u201d mais formal. Vamo ver como fica na frase, escuta s\u00f3:<\/p>\n
